The primary objective of the internship is to spearhead the development of digital twins for our swarm of autonomous machines, specifically focusing on the testing of new functionalities and the implementation of virtual monitoring capabilities for the machines.

What we expect from candidates:

 

  • Strong passion and enthusiasm for multimedia technology, 3D modeling, simulation, and virtual environments.
  • Pursuing a degree in Multimedia Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in multimedia applications, such as Python, C++, or JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with multimedia technologies, 3D modeling techniques, and simulation tools.
  • Interest in autonomous systems, virtual reality (VR), and augmented reality (AR).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze and interpret multimedia data.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Willingness to learn, adapt, and embrace new challenges in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment.

Main objectives of the work:

 

  • Design and develop a digital twin framework with a multimedia technology focus, particularly emphasizing 3D model generation and simulation environments.
  • Implement and integrate advanced techniques for realistic and immersive 3D modeling within the digital twin simulations.
  • Conduct testing and validation of the digital twin’s multimedia components to ensure accuracy, visual fidelity, and interactivity.
  • Analyze and interpret multimedia data generated within the digital twin to assess the quality and effectiveness of the 3D models and environment.
  • Collaborate with the team to optimize the multimedia aspects of the digital twin framework, ensuring seamless integration and user experience.
  • Document and present findings, results, and recommendations related to multimedia technology within the digital twin simulations.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in multimedia technology, 3D modeling techniques, and simulation environments.

The majority of the internship work will take place at our location in Sørlandsparken, conveniently situated just a 30-minute bus ride, followed by a walk of less than 20 minutes away from UiA in Grimstad. Some of the work may also be conducted from UiA in Grimstad.

The results achieved during the internship can seamlessly align with the scope and requirements of a bachelor’s or master’s project description.
