NOV in Kristiansand is the main office in Norway. NOV has locations all over the world, with the main office in Houston, US. The engineering department is located i Kristiansand and works in many fields; Machine design, control systems, robotics, simulations, technical safety, instrumentation, hydraulics, etc.
NOV Robotics and Automation are looking for internship students at the Bachelor’s or Master’s program interested in robotics and machine automation. The students will be part of a team whose main objective is to design and develop systems for automation in oil and gas activities.
Main task will be:
- Design handling tools (end effectors for robots)
- Develop operational procedures as a basis for control systems development.
- Control systems development:
- HMI
- Controls software.
- Integration with other machines and applications.
- Testing of robotic systems.
Qualifications:
We are looking for students with competency or knowledge within any of the skills listed:
- Robotics
- Machine control
- 3D design and modelling
- Machine control user interface
- Simulation
- Vision technology for machine control
The successful candidate will work as part of a multi-disciplined team to develop new robotic machine and process concepts. Through software and hardware development, and in collaboration with internal engineering groups and specialized vendors, the goal will be to develop systems that allow for safe and efficient handsfree handling and drill floor automation.
